Jake Maxson - Second Place in the State Championship

Back-to-Back Tiger News!  Central High's Boys Tennis Team took 3rd at State this week in the 6A championship after winning 1st Place in Conf. play last week. LRCH's Jake Maxson won 2nd place in singles play; and  the Boys Doubles team- Alex Wells & Stefan Tudoreanu came in 3rd.

 Way to go, Tigers! 

 Congrats!!!


Emmory Simmons Brings it to State

Congratulations to freshman Emmory Simmons from Parkview! After her conference win, she took second place in the 5A state tennis tournament held in Hot spring. She brings back the runner- up trophy for the Patriots’ team!

John Prine Tribute Concert 
Benefitting Washington ES
SOMA Business District hosted a John Prine Tribute Concert which featured numerous local artists in the SoMa Outdoor Dining Room located at 13th and Main. John Prine was a famous musician who died of Covid early during the pandemic. Some of the featured performers were Amy Garland, Mandy McBride, Chris Declerk, Joey Barrett, Steve Railey, Joe Sundell and many more.

"Socktober" Fest at Brady Elem.
Brady Elem. is hosting a Socktober event where students and staff collect socks to donate to the homeless and those in need. They're also challenging other LRSD team members to get involved. Brady will be collecting socks all month long in support of the Van organization. For more information go to www.helpthevan.org.

Henderson Middle School Walk For The Cure
Since there will not be a Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure this year, Henderson Middle is honoring Breast Cancer Awareness month with a "Walk for the Cure". This will also give fellow co-workers an opportunity to enjoy socially distanced fellowship - all while wearing masks, of course!  All employee's are invited, and a team photo will be taken!!

STUDENT FOCUSED TEACHEER LED CONFERENCE

If you are an administrator, teacher, or school psychologist, you wouldn't want to miss this two day empowering event! A Student Focused Teacher Led Conference being held the second week of November.  You will be receiving a plethora of information from some of our leading educators, discussing what it means to be student-focused and teacher-led; gaining access to valuable resources and research-based practices that you can implement.
