LRSD Educators in the Community Spotlight!

Congrats to Emily Harrell, English language arts teacher at Pinnacle View Middle School, who successfully completed the Arkansas Declaration of Learning program.  Ms. Harrell was honored during a special program at the Clinton Center Thursday night, with Governor Asa Hutchinson as the keynote speaker.

The Arkansas Declaration of Learning program is very competitive.  Educators selected for the 2018-19 program began with a week-long intensive training led by state and national partners during June 2018. During the training, participants learned to use historic art and objects in their classroom and school libraries to bring the subjects they teach to life. During the school year, they developed dynamic unit and lesson plans – and launched a civic engagement project – that helped engage students in active learning and illustrated the importance of civic engagement.

Whitney Mosley, McDermott Elementary School Speech/Language Pathologist (red jacket), recently named the "2019 Taste of Finest" Honoree for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.  She will be honored during a special dinner, August 16th at the Statehouse Convention Center.  Way to go, Ms. Mosley!
