Coca-Cola Consolidated & the Walton Foundation Launch 5 Complete All Kids Bike Learn-To-Ride Bike Programs in LRSD!

Coca-Cola Consolidated made a generous $25,000 donation to help bring the complete All Kids Bike Kindergarten PE Learn-To-Ride program to Chicot, Mabelvale, Watson, Booker T. Washington, and Stephens elementary schools. Thanks to the joint efforts of our partners including the Walton Foundation, these five elementary schools received everything they needed to kickstart the All Kids Bike Program. The program consists of an 8-lesson curriculum, staff training and certification, Strider Learn-To-Ride bikes, and helmets. Through this initiative thousands of kindergarteners will learn to ride bikes and as a result have healthy habits instilled at a young age. Check out pictures from the bike delivery celebration at Chicot Elementary on Wednesday, September 15th.

Congratulations to Dunbar Magnet Middle's

Dr. William Delsa!

Dr. William Delsa has been awarded a scholarship to attend the Jump$tart National Educator Conference of Financial Literacy in Washington D. C., November 6th-8th. We are proud to say that this is the third time Dr. Delsa has been selected.

The Jump$tart National Educator Conference is the nation’s premier professional development event for 300 PreK-12th grade teachers, dedicated to financial education in the classroom. For teachers, it is an event offering tools and information they can use in their classrooms as soon as they return to school. While there are many ways to advance financial literacy for young people, financial education in school helps prepare all students, from all walks of life.

The Jump$tart National Educator Conference of Financial Literacy is a warm and invigorating opportunity to network, collaborate, re-charge, and celebrate each other’s unique contribution to “financial smarts for students.” Congratulations again, Dr. Delsa, your Dunbar and LRSD family are so excited for you!
