Please remember that school starts on August 12th, this year. Tax-free day is the first weekend in August (3-4). We look forward to seeing you!

Vaccine Clinic Serves Hundreds of Students
Just in Time for 2024-25 School Year

LRSD partnered with the Arkansas Department of Health for its annual back-to-school vaccine clinic to help students prepare for the new year. Hundreds of students took advantage of the free, 3-day clinic. Shout out LRSD Health Coordinator Jackie McEuen for the great job helping to organize the event, along with Mary Otwell, manager of LRSD's school-based health clinics.

2023 LR Southwest Grad Inspires Peers Following Successful Freshman Year
LRSD alum Lauryn Howard gave an inspiring speech at today’s Jobs for Arkansas Grads (JAG) awards luncheon. A proud LR Southwest grad, Lauren continues to shine and represent her school and community well!

Hall Alum and NBA Star Shares Time, Talent and Treasure with Local Students


Little Rock’s own Bobby Portis shows he’s committed to his hometown and investing in youth through a basketball camp, held annually at his alma mater - Hall High School. It didn’t take long for registration tickets to get snapped up! We appreciate that Bobby is a proud product of the LRSD who represents his district on the national stage!

Central High Rising Senior Rachel Hof recently earned an impressive distinction.  She was named among only 100 girls in the country, selected to attend the American Legion Auxiliary Girls Nation in D.C. Rachel is in D.C. right through tomorrow.  We are very proud of you, Rachel.

The summer is a great time to get together with distant relatives, and it's always exciting when they come around to visit! Encourage your child to show off their newfound reading skills by reading to a relative or retelling a story from memory!

Kickstart Your Teaching Journey: Novice Teacher Curriculum Onboarding at LRSD

The school year is almost here and LRSD is getting ready for this year's Novice Teacher Academy. Designed for first-year teachers, newcomers to LRSD, and those needing curriculum support, this focused session will help you get ahead and feel prepared for the upcoming school year.
