It was a Great Week at Chicot Elementary!

Chicot's School-Based Health Clinic Added a New Service to Facilities

Thanks to the combined efforts of  community partners, Chicot Clinic staff and volunteers, Chicot School-Based Health Clinic now proudly adds a vision clinic to the dental, behavioral, and medical services already provided to students and families!

Immediately following the ribbon-cutting ceremony, Monday, September 27, 2021, ophthalmologists  screened nine students for exams, resulting in eight pairs of glasses being ordered free of charge to for those students.

This could not have happened without funding provided by Arkansas Departments of Education and Health through the school-based health grant. We would also like to shine a light on the efforts of Dr. Brita Rook, who volunteered her time and expertise conducting eye exams and  assisting the clinic in working through our new processes.

We are looking forward to sharing another exciting announcement this month.  Stay tuned!
