Getting Arkansas Families Connected
LRSD Continues to Evolve with the Times with its Ignite Digital Academy Launch
During the height of the pandemic LRSD had to adapt to the digital learning landscape in order to best meet the needs of the families and students it serves. Last school year, plenty of students thrived learning virtually and we would like to continue to provide and maximize that option for them.
As we head into the summer and prepare for the upcoming school year, it is apparent that the Ignite Digital Academy is going to be an enriching option. Building on the resources and information learned last school year, the Academy will be a huge improvement from the former virtual option provided. We're so excited about this upcoming school year and encourage any family who would benefit from this option to take advantage.

Cool Globes: Hot Ideas for a Cooler Planet
“Cool Globes: Hot Ideas for a Cooler Planet” is public art with a purpose, featuring 26 beautiful globes that vividly present solutions to climate change and make it clear…we can solve this. Each of the massive globes was created by a different artist, including four brand new globes designed by local creatives. The globes will be displayed throughout the Clinton Presidential Park.
“Cool Globes” is a public art exhibition designed to raise awareness of solutions to climate change. Founder Wendy Abrams announced “Cool Globes” as a Commitment to Action during the Clinton Global Initiative annual meeting in 2005. The exhibit premiered in Chicago the next year and has since been displayed in dozens of cities throughout the country and around the world.

CALS SUMMER READING CLUB PACKED WITH PET PARADE, MERMAIDS, AND PRIZES Library system offers “Tails & Tales” themed events throughout June and July |

|
Registration is open for Central Arkansas Library System’s (CALS) annual Summer Reading Club. From June 14 to July 31, CALS will be offering weekly programs and contests for readers of all ages, including grab-and-go activities, socially distanced in-person events at various branches, and virtual events taking place on Facebook, YouTube, Zoom, and other digital platforms. To register and view the full calendar of “Tails & Tales” themed events, visit cals.org/summer-reading-club. “Each summer, we look forward to developing programs that encourage reading and spark the imagination,” said Ellen Samples, CALS Youth Services Coordinator. “‘Tails & Tales’ is such a fun theme because there are so many great books we can explore at any age with tales about all sorts of tails—dogs, dinosaurs, and even mermaids.” This year, summer reading participants can look forward to new activities, including a Virtual Pet Parade. To enter the pet parade, families can submit photos or videos of their pets from June 1 to 30, and submissions will be used to create a virtual pet parade that will be broadcast via the CALS Kids Facebook page on July 13 at 2 p.m. There are many other events, including Storytime Live featuring several guest readers, virtual fieldtrips, Bingoflix for the adults, and crafts, including DIY fairy houses. Everyone who registers for Summer Reading Club is eligible to receive a free tote bag filled with goodies (while supplies last). There will be weekly drawings for prizes done at each branch. To be entered into the drawing, participants must earn a “badge.” Badges are earned by logging and reviewing books or movies as well as completing activities or attending virtual programs. And upon completion of the program, kids and teens will receive a free book. “Summer should always be fun, but it’s important for kids to continue learning,” Samples added. “Summer Reading Club is a great combination of the two.” For more information about CALS and to register for Summer Reading Club, visit https://cals.org/summer-reading-club. About CALS The Central Arkansas Library System includes 15 branch libraries located in Little Rock, Perryville, and throughout Pulaski County. CALS has the largest research collection in central Arkansas. Most of its more than one million items may be reserved online and picked up at any branch that is convenient to the patron. Library Square, the library system’s downtown Little Rock campus, includes the Main Library, as well as the Ron Robinson Theater, the Bobby L. Roberts Library of Arkansas History & Art, and the Galleries & Bookstore at Library Square. |

My husband was diagnosed several years ago with emphysema. He was able to quit smoking and we stayed on top of any illness. He has been hospitalized with pneumonia every year. His breathing has been getting worse but oxygen levels stay in the 97 to 98 range except when he's in hospital. For a year now he has been passing out. It is only for 1 to 3 minutes and was only when he would start coughing. The doctor changed his medications around but he passes out when breathing a bit hard. Also his feet swell up and are numb all the time. He then started using a cane. i searched for alternative treatment before i was introduced to nze njoku herbal home by a friend here in the United states she told me they have successful herbal treatment to Emphysema and other lungs diseases. I spoke to few people who used the treatment here in USA and they all gave a positive response, so i immediately purchased the Emphysema herbal formula for my husband and he commenced usage, its totally unexplainable how all the symptoms totally disappeared, his cough was gone and he no longer experience shortness of breath(dyspnea), contact Nze Njoku Herbal Home via their email
