LRCH Tigers Give the NLR Wildcats a Serious Run for the Title

Thursday March 19th, the Central High Tigers took on the NLR High Wildcats! Our Tigers fought hard to bring home the state title but unfortunately fell to the Wildcats. The Tigers have so much to be proud of!  Back-to- back appearances in the boys state final! They had an extremely impressive run and we are so proud of this group!

LRCH BRYSON WARRREN

LRCH's Bryson Warren had an amazing season. Earlier this week he was acknowledged as the first sophomore ever to win Boys Player of the Year at KATV's 2021 Full Court Awards. According to KATV Warren stood out as a consistent scorer for LRCH, averaging 26.1 points, 4.1 assists, and 2.3 steals per game this season.
We are so proud of you, Bryson, and we know that you will continue to shine!

Women's History Month

This month at LRSD we are celebrating Women's History Month by spotlighting prominent women in the STEM field. This week, Ruth Olive Beall was our spotlighted figure. She was the superintendent of Arkansas Children's Hospital and Home from 1934-1961. Beall is credited for saving the hospital from financial despair during the Great Depression. She is also responsible for its expansion and improvement during the years following the Depression. We thank Ruth Olive Beall for her dedication to our very own Arkansas Children's Hospital. Check out our Instagram or Facebook to see the other women we've spotlighted so far!

Dunbar Community Cleanup

What a beautiful weekend for a neighborhood clean-up! Dunbar teachers and students joined the Dunbar community Saturday, March 13th for Dunbar’s Neighborhood Clean-Up.  Kick off started at the awesome Dunbar Garden.  Dunbar teachers, Mike Harris and Anaid Gonzalez, along with Dunbar students, William Cowan, Shay Bagley, Danielle Casey, Aryany Salgero, Jaimie Bozell, and Fredrick Howard (not pictured) were among those who volunteered to help keep the Dunbar Community and Little Rock looking beautiful.

Love Rocks @ Central!

Central High Students found a meaningful way to reach the community during this difficult global pandemic through a project entitled, LOVE ROCKS AT CENTRAL HIGH.  The Central High Library and the Art and Communications Departments were excited to partner with Rikki Sandress and The National Society of Leadership and Success to create greeting cards for senior adults.  Central High Students created homemade greeting cards to honor senior adults who have been isolated from their loved ones during the COVID-19 Pandemic.  The cards were very much appreciated by all the senior adults who received one.
