Hall High Goes Full STEAM Ahead for
2020
Our stakeholders will recall that Hall
High underwent a name change, designating it as a STEAM magnet high school. The
magnet designation will allow students throughout the district to choose to
attend Hall. STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) programming
is aimed at meeting student’s interests while also preparing them for college
and careers. The Ford Next Generation model will also be a part of the new
programming. Interested students and parents may also register at the Southwest Community Center, 6401 Baseline Rd., this Monday, January 27, 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.. Bilingual staff will be available. #FullSTEAMAhead
“One Rock Legends” Hall of Fame
Awardees Named!
LRSD Athletic Foundation honored former athletes and coaches this weekl at the Second Annual “One Rock Legends” Hall of Fame Awards ceremony. Recipients received a blown glass trophy for
their contribution to the LRSD athletic program and the greater community. The seven inductees included
Duane Washington, Derek Fisher, Marcus Elliot, Tyler Scaife, Bernie Cox, Leslie
O’Neal and CW Keopple, Jr. (posthumously). Congratulations!

Local Musicians Support LRSD Fine
Arts Dept.
A second fundraiser, benefiting the upcoming 10th Annual Artistry in the Rock's scholarship effort was held recently. Hats off to the talented local musicians who donated their time and talents for this event. The next event will feature LRSD staff members in an all-star talent showcase, February 10, 7 p.m. at the Ron Robinson Theater. (See flyer below)
Omega Reading Day A Hit!

Elementary students sat attentively as members of the Omega fraternity read
stories to them. This volunteer effort took place recently as part of the Omega's volunteer efforts during their regional meeting in Little Rock. We thank these
men for being a fine example to our LRSD students by serving as readers.

High School Enrollment

Thank you for your participation in the Extended Open
Enrollment period for LRSD. The Open
Enrollment period closed January 17 for elementary and middle schools. However, due to the exciting changes for
school choice at LRSD, we will be extending Open Enrollment for High School
only – until January 28th. Please visit
our Student Registration Office (SRO) webpage for information on choices and
how to register.
