Hall High Visual Arts Students Create Ornaments for Governor's Mansion
First Lady and Governor Asa Hutchinson asked
high schools across the state to create ornaments for one of seventeen (17)
Christmas trees representing countries that have direct foreign investments in
Arkansas as part of their Peace on Earth theme for the Governor’s Holiday Open
House recently. Hall High Visual Arts students chose to
research and create ornaments that were reflective of Colombia’s culture. The
student ornaments included burlap coffee bags, glazed and fired pottery,
watercolor paper lanterns and folded paper with handmade tassels. Hall High was
the only participating school from the Little Rock area, and was honored with a
citation from Governor Hutchinson for the students’ vision and leadership.
LRSD Hosted a Little Tree Decorating of its Own!
Special thanks to the school community for supporting our inaugural #LRSD2019FamilyTree event. You still have time to add your ornament to our tree. You may make one here or bring one to help us celebrate - WE are Family!
