Chicot Elementary Gordon Garden Revitalization Celebration!

On August 26th, 2021 Chicot Elementary, LRSD, and our partners celebrated the revitalization of the Gordon Garden. Facilitated by Chicot's young and promising student leaders, yesterday's ceremony honored the legacy of  late, beloved Chicot staff member Mr. Bradley Gordon. The school named the garden after Mr. Gordon because of his undeniable impact on the students and community he served.

Students described Gordon as a caring soul who found great contentment in being outside during recess, watching students enjoy their free time. It was only fitting to dedicate an outdoor space in his honor where students could reconnect with that same sense of peace. Special thank you to Chicot teachers, staff, and families, our partners Full Circle FarmCorps, City of Little Rock, City of Little Rock Park & Recreation, The Junior League of Little Rock, Little Rock Church, Boy Scouts of America Troop 30, Arkansas Statewide Tree Service, and all other community partners who helped make the Gordon Garden revitalization a success!
