Celebrating Scholars
LRSD is proud to celebrate top senior class scholars from five high schools: National Merit Semifinalists, Commended Scholars, National Hispanic Scholars and Principals Scholars. A special thanks, also, to Stephens, Inc. for serving as our back-to-back sponsor for the past four years and to Mosaic Templars Cultural Center for hosting us this year!
Athletic Achievers!
Central High School hosted the Fall Athletic Signing event for students who will compete on the college level. The signing was attended by the students athletes, their teammates, friends and family.Below is a list of participating athletes along with their respective sports and the school they will be committing to attend in the Fall of 2020:

Experiencing the Wonders of Reading
The Little Rock School District kicked off ViPS Jane Mendel Reading Day with hundreds of volunteers, fanning out to all of the LRSD Elementary Schools. Guests shared their love of reading and/or their favorite books with students.
Patriot Pride
Parkview High School football team members were "on the ball" with their latest community service project...cleaning up their campus! This is an annual event which allows the students to show their Patriot pride! Way to go team!
MLK Students Perform Unique Concert
Martin Luther King Elementary performed a “Wacky Weather” concert recently. The second and third graders are shown here during rehearsal for the event. Also shown are teachers Sarah Stokes and Brendan McInerney who accompanied the youth with tobianos and the piano. While preparing for the concert, the students learned lessons about meteorology and understanding the weather. As the song goes "Maps and gauges clue us in, now just try to sneak on in! Wacky Weather!"

Jefferson Elementary is proud to announce the winners of the
school-wide Spelling Bee. 3rd place – Eleanor Tilbury, 2nd
place – Eislin Moore, and 1st place – Jones McKelvey. #Bee-ingSmart
Evening of Camping Fun at MLK!
MLK Elementary hosted it's Family Camp Night this week. They had 260 students and parents that participated. Activities at the event included "big games," campfire time, learning to fish, tent reading and a compass scavenger hunt. #FamilyFun!

Cloverdale's Community Partners ROCK!
In honor of the legacy of Marsha Glover, a former Cloverdale staff member, her friends and family donated $600 to invest in the lives of students at Cloverdale MS.
