2019 LRSD Teacher of the Year
Congratulations to the 2019 LRSD Teachers of the Year! Jeff Whitlow, Roberts Elementary was named top teacher and recipient of the Marian G. Lacey Educator of the Year Award.
Stella Cameron, Central, was named High School Teacher of the Year; Carolyn Johnson-Powell, Mann, was selected as Middle School Teacher of the Year; and Jessica Sanders, Gibbs, earned the Elementary Teacher of the Year award.
Educators enjoyed a gala in their honor, thanks to generous sponsors.

Half of the 18 Arkansas teams who qualified for Destination Imagination Globals in Kansas City, Missouri are from LRSD! Whoo-hoo! Schools representing LRSD: Gibbs, Roberts, Dunbar, Mann, Parkview, and Central. Rockefeller Wins Elementary Volleyball Championship!
Rockefeller and Mabelvale Elementary teams spiked it out for the title of Elementary Volleyball Champs. After an intense 25 minutes, Rockefeller took home the championship. Great game by both schools. Lots of talent on each team! Great job, students!
10 Dunbar Magnet Students Score in the 95th Percentile on National Spanish Exam
Over 146,000 students took the National Spanish Exam in the United
States this year. Out of that number, 1,635 students scored in the 95th
percentile. Twenty of those students who scored in the 95th
percentile are from Arkansas and out of those 20, 10 students
are from Dunbar Magnet Middle School. Dunbar students in Mrs. Robin
Kratzke’s Spanish 1 and Spanish 2 classes scored exceptionally well.
These Dunbar students earned 10 gold, 8 silver, and 5
bronze medals and thousands of dollars worth of scholarships were
received.
Eighth grade Spanish 2
student, Carla Servin, scored a PERFECT 100% on the National Spanish
Exam. Way to go, Carla!!!
