Open Enrollment is Right Around the Corner

Mark your calendars! 2022-23 open enrollment is right around the corner. In the meantime, schedule a tour at your desired LRSD school to learn about all the amazing opportunities we have to offer your student.

Dr. Marian G. Lacey Beam-Signing Ceremony

This past Monday the southwest community and stakeholders had the opportunity to leave their mark by signing the construction beam for the new Dr. Marian G. Lacey K-8 Academy! The general public also had a chance to sign the beam during LRSD's Community Connections & Conversations with Dr. Jermall Wright. Ultimately, the signed beam will be placed in a prominent location of the new school when completed. You can watch the full ceremony here on our YouTube channel.

Little Rock West Student Designed 2022 Ornament for Arkansas

The Arkansas Department of Education recognized West High School of Innovation's Abigail Van Kalsbeek for designing the 2022 ornament for Arkansas! One-of-a-kind ornaments will adorn 58 smaller Christmas trees that surround the National Christmas Tree in D.C. The trees represent states, territories, and schools managed by the Bureau of Indian Education and the Department of Defense Education Activity. We are so proud to say one of our student's designs was among those nationally selected for such a beautiful tradition!

2022 Jane Mendel Reading Day

Special thank you to everyone who volunteered for this year's Jane Mendel Reading Day! The students enjoyed visits from multiple dedicated LRSD volunteers including board members Greg Adams, Norma Johnson, and Leigh Anne Wilson; Supt. Dr. Jermall Wright; City Director Kathy Webb; Senator Clarke Tucker; AR House Representatives Andrew Collins, Denise Ennett, Tippi McCullough, and Tara Shephard; and KTHV's Craig O'Neill. We look forward to seeing you next year!
