On April 8, 2021 David Ronnel stood beside Gov. Asa Hutchinson as he signed Arkansas bill SB160 which would require Holocaust Education to be taught in all K-12 public schools in the state of Arkansas. This moment was held on Holocaust Remembrance Day which made it all the more special. Ronnel impressively helped create and carry this legislation into law as a high school Junior. CAUGHT DOING GOOD

Keeping the buses rolling safely and on time is the goal of FirstStudent, LRSD's contracted transportation partner. And you need great people to do it!  That's why FirstStudent manager @TameulaSmith recommended her dispatcher, @LovieLuster, for special recognition. Over the past year in the midst of the pandemic, Ms. Luster took on mulitple roles to ensure that students and her teammates would be supported. She even volunteered to rearrange her schedule and childcare to get the job done. LRSD Supt. Mike Poore surprised Ms. Luster by dropping in to personally thank her.  Congrats, Ms. Luster and thanks for all you do!
