The Heart of Texas is one of the most elite invitation-only tournaments of the season, and is attended by the best debate teams in the country. They finished in the Sweet 16 of the tournament, beating four top-25 teams on their way to elimination rounds. Sakshi was also recognized as 12th speaker out of 184 speakers.

Dunbar Students Have the Library at Their Fingertips
Capstone Interactive eBook Library was 7-th graders in April Moore’s class recently.  These Dunbar students started with a one-day tutorial to help them become familiar with the resources and quickly developed into a two-day lesson as students begged for more reading time. The
students especially enjoyed the many graphic novels available among the collection of eBooks.

Washington Students Host a Celebrity Reader
Local Radio/TV personality Craig O'Neill paid a visit to Washington 1st graders. Students attentively listened as he read "My Teacher is a Monster" by Peter Brown.  We thank Mr. O'Neil for kindly donating the book to the school's library for others to enjoy. After the reading, he filmed the class and it aired on the local THV-11.

Dunbar Scholars Invest in their Future
Dunbar's AVID Scholars have been working with the Little Rock Rotary Club 99 in a nine-week program to improve their knowledge of financial literacy. The students are shown here in class led by Lou Henson, of the Arkansas Federal Credit Union, who will be instructing the eighth graders during their AVID Study Skills class. #ShowMetheMoney
