National Stroke Awareness Month
This past Monday LRSD staff, stakeholders, friends, and family came together to celebrate outstanding LRSD educators and classified staff during the 2021 Virtual Teacher of the Year/Classified Employee of the Year event!
The virtual awards ceremony consisted of a smooth Jazz performance by Little Rock Southwest High's Jazz Ensemble, a stellar performance by Tania Kelley, and an adorable explanation of what it means to be a good teacher by students in our district. If you missed it, you can always watch here.
Special thanks to our very generous sponsors and donors who made this year's celebration a success! Congrats to all of our honorees, who not only received goodie bags, but Crystal Awards gift cards and cash awards ranging from $500-S1,000.

CAUGHT DOING GOOD
Guess who was #CaughtDoingGood this week? Ms. Shanda Macon, Little Rock Southwest High School, was recognized for being the glue to hold the Gryphon family together. Her principal Marvin Burton raved that she is extremely coordinated, organized, intelligent and driven. Mr. Burton says that she is the model for what an academy coach leader should be all about. She is also one of the driving forces behind recruitment at Little Rock Southwest High. Congrats, Ms. Macon, and thanks for all you do!
